Here's the 2nd trial. When I was in my 7th month in mummy's womb, the doctor told mummy after a blood test again that mummy might have gestational diabetes (diabetes due to pregnancy). If mummy was found to have diabetes, then I might have to be taken out much earlier because of weight and health problems. O dear, if I have to be taken out earlier than expected, then I would be put in an incubator because I have not learnt how to breathe through my lungs yet! Mummy prayed so hard and God heard her cries. After a thorough blood test, mummy was found to be healthy. :) Praise God!
The 3rd trial. 3weeks before I was supposed to be born, the doctor told mummy that her fluid inside was decreasing. Poor me. The fluid was my cushion, my oxygen, my everything. This means I would have to be taken out earlier than expected. The doctor said if by the following week, the fluid decreased to a certain level then mummy would have to be admitted to hospital and go through an induced labor immediately. Mummy prayed and God heard her cries once again. That week, after a scan, the doctor said mummy's fluid increased!
And so mummy waited and waited for the natural contractions to come. Usually a full term pregnancy is said to be 40 weeks. However, even after the 41st week mummy was still waiting. I can't really remember why I didn't want to come out. I think I was enjoying every single minute inside the womb because it was really comfortable. Mummy prayed everyday and night for the natural contractions to come because mummy wanted a March baby. I was scheduled to be born on 22nd March. Mummy's birthday is in March so she hoped her baby would be born in March too. Mummy prayed and prayed but still the contractions didn't come. She didn't understand why God would let her baby be overdue and still I was growing bigger day by day! Doctor even said that mummy could continue to wait for the contractions to come but if I was heavier than 3.8kg and contractions still didn't come, I would be in danger. So he set a deadline which is 3rd April 2006. He made mummy go for the induced labor. On the scheduled day, mummy had contractions but they came too slow so mummy was eventually induced.
In most cases, induced labor is painful and the baby wouldn't be born till many hours later (say 10hrs?). That's why most mummies want to take the anaesthetic jab because it is almost impossible to bear long hours of pain. However, mummy was so brave. Because she prayed and trusted God for a quick labor and delivery, she decided to trust God all the way and told the nurses and doctors she didn't need the jab. Everyone looked at mummy in a strange manner and thought for sure that mummy would die of pain. Seeing mummy so brave, I decided to give her a better time and fought my way through. Because the nurses and doctors thought that it would be after noon before I could be born, they left the delivery room and took a short break. Just then, I popped out into this world weighing 3.85kg. Nobody believed mummy went through the labor and delivery without any anaesthetic jab when her baby was so big.
With God, nothing is impossible. Mummy was able to go through the miracle pregnancy and childbirth because she trusted in God and stood firm to what she believed. Each time she was faced with a trial in the pregnancy, she prayed and believed that God would do it for her. In the Bible, God mentioned that whatever we asked for in prayer, when we believe that we have received it, then it will be given to us. Indeed God is a faithful God and I will give praise and thanks to him all my life.
